Happy Sunday! Seeing as today is supposed to be the most relaxed day of the week, I thought I would stick to this theme for today’s post. Something quite simple – the things that make up the best cosy night in. I really am not the most sociable girl in the world. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love all my friends and family, and I love spending time with them but I do like staying in and relaxing just as much. I also think that I have now got the cosy night in routine absolutely perfect.
Catch up – firstly I like to get a few things done on my laptop, usually whilst sitting on the bed with a hot drink. Preferably a good cup of tea! Blogging is now a big part of my life, so I spend a lot of time sat writing posts, editing images and planning ideas. This is quite a lot of work, and very time consuming, however it does relax me because I love it so much. There is not a day that goes by where I don’t at least do something towards this blog. I will usually spend about an hour blogging on a cosy night in, including lots of social media work to boost viewers.
PJ’s – after getting some work done, I then always have to change into comfy clothes or PJ’s. I don’t do this before because I immediately go into deep relaxation mode, and can’t concentrate on anything! So once everything is done, it is then okay! I either go two ways; leggings and hoodie, or nightie if I am actually not feeling too cold. This is very unusual for me because of poor circulation!
Food – you can’t have a cosy night without some form of binge food. Mine is always going to be chocolate, and I can very easily devour a whole bar alone. My favourite chocolate at the moment is actually from Aldi. It is so delicious and to make it even better it is amazingly cheap. I go for either Smooth Milk or Rich Almond.
Online Shopping – this is the time where I scroll through all the newest stock in my favourite places. During the week I see things on people and in magazines, so my brain is unconsciously looking out for them! I am such a shopaholic, and a complete lover of clothes. I also love seeing how all the places style each piece of clothing; it gives me so much inspiration for outfit post ideas.
Fluffy Blanket – you couldn’t really have a cosy night without some form of fluffy material. Either a thick dressing gown or blanket will do. I adore mine in a velvety cream material, a gift for Christmas.
Candles – I have so many candles, yet I often forget to actually light them. I don’t really know why, it is just something that I am not in the habit of doing. At the moment my favourite one is actually from New Look, with the scent Cinnamon Spice. It is so beautiful, and just gives me such a glorious sense of Autumn.
Beauty Routines – during the week I usually have a basic routine sorted with regards to skincare. Although when I have a little extra time I like to do a bit more, as well as things that I often forget in the week. I usually have a nice bath, and moisturise with a good rich product. I will use double the amount compared to the week, just so I feel extra pampered. I also spend some time on my nails, and like to give myself a facial. These are just a few simple things that I don’t get the chance to do ordinarily because there just isn’t the time.
Box Sets – I am a massive movie lover, however I now find it difficult to sit by myself and watch one on my laptop for a whole two hours. I would much rather watch a film with somebody else. Therefore, I watch box sets as I find them much more engaging. At the moment I am addicted to Pretty Little Liars and Call the Midwife.
– happy Sunday –
