If you didn’t know already, I am a complete Instagram addict, which I usually blame on being a blogger. Therefore, I spend hours drooling over the latest trends and what my favourite bloggers and celebs are loving, such as shoes, bags and clothes. I have been completely in love with so many things in the past few months, for example those gorgeous studded Versace shoes, and the Chanel bags that keep popping up on my timeline. I love them all, however I am in absolutely no position to buy any of them. I think the Chanel bag is heading for £3,000… a figure that is no way near in my price range – I am a student! This also very much applies to make-up and beauty products. So today I wanted to talk to you about luxury make-up versus drug store make-up.
“Are the designer make-up brands really better than the drug store brands?”
Over the past few years I have collected many designer make-up pieces, some of which I am now completely devoted to. Although, I also very much love all my drug store bits, especially those from Rimmel London. So my question to you guys is… is the make-up really worth the designer price? Starting off with my foundation, I am going to talk about the Chanel Perfection Lumiere. I have tried out so so many different foundations from across the make-up spectrum, but I have never found one that works quite as well as this one. It has amazing coverage, feels so light, and I just love the smell when applying it. It is £36, which I think is very reasonable seeing as I probably only buy two or three a year. I also own quite a few Chanel lipsticks, as well as a beautiful collection of nail varnishes. I absolutely love all of them, and the one thing that stands out for me is the colours on offer. I have looked through so many make-up stands, and have never found the same colours from Rimmel that I have found from say Chanel. The quality is always so good, and the colours are always different, for both lipsticks and nail varnish. Therefore, I would say that the quality on offer from Chanel will always have the edge over drugstore products for me with certain things, nevertheless I love to have a variety of makeups in my bag. These to me are little luxuries, that I just adore in my make-up collection. Seeing as it is nearly Christmas, why don’t you go and take a look at the wide range on offer, and indulge yourself 😉
I am really keen to hear your opinion on luxury make-up brands vs drug store, so let me know in the comments your favourite make-up brands so I can try them out!
– have a fantastic day –
