My first recipe of 2016, and I am so so excited. Cooking and baking has got to me one of my favourite hobbies, and it is definitely something that I want to do much more of this year, especially sharing it via the blog. Seeing as the start of the year is usually all about healthy eating and trying to change all our bad dieting habits, I thought I would do a healthy delicious breakfast recipe. Quite often I used to go out for breakfast with my granny to a wonderful place in Clifton, and every single time I would have a granola yoghurt dish that I just absolutely adored. Since then, I have been making this recipe.

“A fresh healthy breakfast is the best way to start the day – I feel revitalised after a good nights sleep and ready to tackle the day… whatever I may be doing.”

I used to be very bad when it came to breakfast, and just skip it, as I would always prioritise an extra ten minutes in bed. Now, I simply cannot do this, and I have found that I actually lose so much more weight when eating breakfast. This typical dieting breakfast for me contains very few ingredients, yet tastes so delicious.
Granola Bowl with Berries
Ingredients:

Fresh Berries // Low-Fat Yoghurt // Nutty Granola // Raisins // Honey

To begin with, I make two layers of berries and yoghurt – starting with berries then adding a coating of yoghurt. When this process is repeated just once, you get a gorgeous effect, especially in a glass bowl.
Then, top with a generous amount of nutty granola. The reason I use nutty is that the berry one would probably be a bit much with the fresh berries, and I love the consistency the nuts bring to the bowl.
Top with a few raisins, and a drizzle of beautiful golden honey. How amazingly pretty does this bowl look… not to mention yummy! Serve with strong coffee and fresh orange juice for the perfect start to the day.

– happy eating –
