And so it’s here – Happy Valentine’s everybody! Today is one of my favourite days, not just because it is full of romance and happiness, but because it is a day that I like to spend with everybody I love, whether that be my boyfriend, family or gorgeous friends. As mentioned earlier in the week, I am not really into the big romantic gestures, and so much prefer something a lot more simple. So I thought I would do an outfit post today, a little more formal than usual, however embracing the simplicity of this love filled day. I am still not entirely sure if we are actually going out for lunch or dinner, but I wanted to create an outfit to show you guys what I would wear if we did. Here in the UK, I do find our style very relaxed, so I take every opportunity going to dress up a bit. I wanted to go for something a bit unusual for this day, so basically not black lace or red. I have mixed baby pink with black to give a casual, yet sophisticated look, and I really love it!
To begin with, I knew I wanted to wear this black pleated midi skirt, as a midi to me always makes me feel a lot more dressed up, as well as feeling comfortable. I tried to go for the same sort of material with the top, and I landed up choosing this simple Zara blouse with the detailing on the shoulder. This could be mistaken as a dress, which I think can only be a good thing? For jewellery I added a baby pink statement necklace, with gold detailing, and some simple nude pointed shoes. These have a midi heel, which are so comfortable, and are almost swaying the outfit into a bit of a midi theme! I really don’t see the point in huge heels, as to be honest I just can’t walk in them, but I don’t think that is anything to be ashamed of. To go out at the moment is so cold, so I have chosen a black leather jacket, and beautiful Michael.
