Spring oh spring how lovely you are. The blossoming flowers, lighter evenings and glorious Starbucks Frappuccio’s. I am so happy to be able to finally wear lighter clothing, and ditch the thick coats and winter boots. Don’t get me wrong, I love winter fashion, but I just feel so much more relaxed in the spring and summer months. The better weather simply makes me feel happier and more content with life. Although, with the weather we get here in Britain, I am probably being a little too optimistic with the forecast for the next few months. I wanted to put together an outfit post to really suit and fit into this transitional phase in fashion, where everybody is just yearning to get the summer wardrobe out, however all freezing to death when stepping out the front door. I wanted to put together something warm, yet casual, as well as something that is very wearable. I spend hours admiring celebrities and super bloggers style, and as much as I love it, for an ordinary person it just isn’t practical to step out in heels and expensive clothes everyday. Us ordinary folk need to wear things that get us through the day, suit our jobs or the things we enjoy doing for leisure. I have combined a wearable and comfortable style with something quite elegant and sophisticated.
“A good knitted jumper has been my favourite thing in the past few months. They keep you warm and allow you to layer, as well as giving any outfit a fabulously elegant edge”
I knew immediately that I wanted to include my latest knit from Missguided in this post. I have literally not stopped wearing this jumper, and I have just found it so versatile. It can be used just with jeans for a casual look, or can be dressed up with skirts and dresses. The low neck line also gives you the opportunity to accessorise, whether this is a bold statement piece or simple chain. To make the jumper even better, it was a complete bargain! Keeping with the theme of bargains, I also wanted to wear a more spring like jacket, with a similar colour to the jumper. I wanted a cropped style, so that the jumper could be seen, however I thought that sleeves would be in need as it isn’t particularly warm at the moment. The hardware on the jacket is silver, so I tried to incorporate this with my shoes and bag. I chose my favourite Valentino black dupes with silver studs, to add a rocky edge to the outfit. The shoes are caged style, quite unique. Finally, I used my latest Zara handbag, in a simple rectangle style, with a silver chain around the edge. I absolutely adore the style of this bag, and like to think that it is my Chanel alternative until the real thing becomes a possibility 😉
For make-up I chose a really natural look, with a brown toned nude lipstick, kinda going with the theme of the jumper and jacket! I have been completely obsessing over the Rosie makeup products and used lots of them with this look, so I am going to link all details and colours below!
