If it isn’t pretty obvious by now, I take every opportunity I can to dress up. I love making myself feel like a princess and choosing different dresses to wear for different occasions. I know I go on and on about it, but it really does annoy me sometimes that the society we now live in doesn’t put that much effort into clothes. It always seems like everyone just simply can’t be bothered to dress up. Christmas is the time for me where I go all out and have a bit more confidence to do so. I just always feel better because I think you can get away with it more at this time of year. Ever since I was little, I have always worn a dress on Christmas day, and usually treat myself to a new one in December just for that day. My grandma and I love getting dressed up, and have a little routine going every year. We start by getting up and having breakfast and a few presents in our pyjamas, then showering and getting dressed. We always seem to spread our gifts out throughout the day rather than ripping them all open in the morning. I used to hate this when I was a bit younger, but now I actually really enjoy it. It spreads the festive spirit out throughout the day and gives you time to look and actually appreciate each gift you have been given. So once I have got my dress on it is then usually time to start cooking the Christmas lunch. Ours is a lunch/dinner, as we usually eat around 4pm. I don’t wear heels around the house or anything, just usually my dress and tights. I love doing this, and hope that it never has to change.
This year I got my dress in Zara, from a store in Palma, Mallorca. I kind of want to show you it on the actual day itself, so above you can see a photo of last year 😉 Last year I wore my black embroidered Ted Baker dress, which I absolutely adore. This year I have gone for something a bit more sparkly and grown up, but equally as beautiful. It was also a complete bargain. I am just going to share a few dresses that I have found online, all perfect for Christmas day.
