So yesterday was a big day for me as I turned 21. There was a big build up to my birthday, as I have been looking forward to turning 21 for years, but the whole thing just completely rushed by and came around so quickly. I didn’t really get a chance to talk about it anywhere, or mention how excited I was as life has just been manic in 2019 so far. But, it was amazing, and really did seem like a big milestone in life. As a child/ teenager, I always used to think of people in their early 20s as being really grown up with all their sh*t together. I mean, now I am there it is definitely not like that in the real world, but I did see it as a chance to get really excited about the future. I feel like I am now taking life a little more seriously and really want to focus on my goals that I have dreamt of since I was little.

I am a big thinker, which is probably obvious as I write every thought I ever have down in this blog, which I guess is the reason I started it in the first place. I want this to continue to be a space where I share my experiences, highs and lows in life, and want to use this milestone in life to use it as a place where I can be much more personal with my readers. I have always been a very private person, and know that I can definitely start to open up a little more on here with all the memories I know  I will be making through my 20s.

So let’s start with a roundup of my birthday celebrations and I what I have planned for the next few days.

My birthday officially started on Thursday, with my grandma. We both took the day off and headed to London for a glamorous girls day. To celebrate the occasion, we started with a  trip to The Ritz for lunch, where I have never been before. It was absolutely beautiful and the perfect way to enjoy celebrating a very special occasion. We then visited two special birthday shops – Tiffany & Co, and Gucci. You can see what I had bought for me, and a roundup of all my gifts on my IGTV this week!

Friday, I had to work as I knew I was having this week off, so got as much done as possible. This meant that my birthday weekend could be thoroughly enjoyed. The Saturday started with my bestie and I heading to The Barn in Somerset for an ultimate relaxing massage. You may have seen my review on The Barn here a few months ago – if not read it here. Also, if you are based in the South West, you HAVE to visit! The rest of the day was spent chilling, packing and drinking lots of Prosecco… obviously.

Sunday came around pretty quickly, and I just had the best day ever. It all started with breakfast in bed, gifts and cards, as well as my obligatory 21 balloons. Are you even a real blogger if these balloons are not in your life? Anyway, cake was on the menu for breakfast and a chilled morning was just what I needed with Finn and Nelson the kitten. I obviously also needed enough time to get ready as I had put a lot of thought into my 21stlunch birthday outfit! Opting for a suit rather than a dress, I searched for weeks and finally found the perfect one on Asos, paired with a white tee and kitten heels, it was perfect as a lunch option as I wanted something a little more sophisticated than previous birthday dress options. I mean, I wanted to call it my ‘birthday suit’ but my grandma certainly did not approve of that one.

Lunch was at The Ivy in Clifton as I wanted to go somewhere a bit special, where we also knew we would get yummy food and good cocktails! We then had presents and cake at my grandparents’ house, as honestly, I can’t think of anything worse than a cake and candles in the middle of a restaurant. The day went by in a blink of an eye, like every birthday and Christmas day, just the way it should do when you’re having a good time with the ones you love.

Today Finn and I are off to Palma, one of my favourite cities, for a little romantic Birthday break. It is no secret that Palma is one of my favourite places, however Finn has never been, so I am incredibly excited to show him everything and just have a really relaxed time. A bike trip along the coast, shopping and lots of eating are definitely on the itinerary.

So, here’s to being 21, growing up and sharing a lot more fun times here on the blog!
